This service allows Rwandans residing in Japan, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand to apply for the E-Passport to facilitate their travels outside the country.

How to apply

All Applicants must access IREMBO to submit the required information.  After the Applicants successfully apply and pay via IremboGov, they wait for a feedback notification (indicated email address in the application form) from the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration. When notification is received, Applicants should contact the Embassy to arrange the date for providing their biometric details.  Applicants must provide their residence card to prove their address in Japan, current passport to prove nationality and Rwandan National ID (if any) for verification.

Processing time
The processing time is 4 working days and then extra time will be needed for attending to the embassy in person.

Prices

• Adult:        100,000 Rwf (10 years’ validity)

                             75,000 Rwf (5 years’ validity)

• Child:          25,000 Rwf (2 years’ validity)

The 17 years old child applies as an adult but pays 25,000 Rwf valid for 5 years.
