Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Rwanda and Japan were established in
1962, shortly after Rwanda gained independence from Belgium. Since then, our

Rwanda is also committed to enhancing bilateral and economic cooperation with
Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
