Rwandan Community 2025 Year-End Gathering in Tokyo
On December 20, 2025, Ambassador Marie Claire Mukasine hosted members of the Rwandan Community in Japan for the 2025 Year-End Gathering at the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda.
The event brought together Rwandans living in Japan in a spirit of unity, reflection, and celebration of shared achievements. It was held in a warm and vibrant atmosphere, strengthening ties between the Rwandan community in Japan with a shared sense of national identity and solidarity.
During the gathering, Ambassador Mukasine highlighted Rwanda’s continued socio-economic progress and development achievements, underscoring the country’s stability, growth, and forward-looking vision. She emphasized the vital role of the Rwandan Diaspora in national development through remittances and skills transfer.
The Ambassador emphasized the longstanding Rwanda-Japan bilateral relations and encouraged community members to actively engage with Japanese society while continuing to promote Rwanda’s image, values, culture, and opportunities in Japan. She also outlined key priorities for 2026, including enhanced consular services and expanded diaspora engagement initiatives.
The celebrations were marked by a joyful and festive atmosphere, enriched by traditional Rwandan dances, singing, and music. Participants also enjoyed special Rwandan food and drinks prepared by the Embassy team, fostering a welcoming environment that reflected Rwanda’s renowned hospitality. The gathering provided ample opportunity for interaction and networking with Rwandans from different parts of the country.
The event concluded with the presentation of Christmas gifts to children. The Ambassador expressed sincere appreciation to all participants for their continued support and engagement, and extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2026.
