The Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Japan participated in the La Journée de la Francophonie 2026 on Sunday, 15th March 2026 at the French Institute in Tokyo. This annual event is organized by the member countries and institutions of the Council for the Promotion of La Francophonie in Japan.

The event provided guests with the opportunity to experience the richness of Francophone traditions, languages, and cultures.

The Embassy of Rwanda showcased the country’s world-renowned specialty coffee. Known for its distinctive flavors and high-quality beans, this coffee was available for guests to taste.

This provided an excellent opportunity to introduce visitors to Rwanda’s thriving coffee culture and to highlight the country’s long-standing tradition of coffee cultivation.

The 2026 Journée de la Francophonie served not only as a celebration of French-speaking nations but also as a platform to highlight Rwanda’s cultural contributions. 

In addition, a traditional Rwandan dance performance was presented to the audience. The performance attracted significant attention from the audience and contributed to promoting Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage among the Francophonie community.

The event strengthened ties between Rwanda and the international community while honoring the shared values of La Francophonie. Rwanda’s specialty coffee enabled attendees to experience a glimpse of the country’s rich heritage and vibrant culture, making the celebration of French-speaking traditions and flavors a memorable experience for all participants.
